The following references provide some examples of our most important mandates: 

  • Comprehensive legal advice in the preparation and implementation of regional planning and/or planning permission procedures for power line projects in the context of network expansion, including legal representation in subsequent appeal proceedings before the Federal Administrative Court:
    - Several 380 kV high-voltage overhead lines and combined 380 kV high-voltage overhead and underground lines in accordance with the German Power Grid Expansion Act (Energieleitungsausbaugesetz) (Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia)
    Cross-border 380 kV high-voltage overhead line in accordance with the Power Grid Expansion Act (North Rhine-Westphalia) as a joint German-Dutch project
    - Several 380 kV high-voltage overhead lines in accordance with the Federal Requirement Plan Act (Bundesbedarfsplangesetz) (northern Germany, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt)
  • Legal advice on the implementation of planning permission procedures for 110 kV overhead lines in accordance with the German Energy Industry Act (Energiewirtschaftsgesetz)
  • Legal advice on the implementation of a planning permission procedure for a gas pipeline to a combined cycle power plant in accordance with the Energy Industry Act in North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Legal advice on the implementation of planning approval and planning permission procedures in accordance with the German Environmental Impact Assessment Act (Umweltverträglichkeitsprüfungsgesetz) for district heating pipelines to coal-fired power plants (northern Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia) including legal representation in subsequent appeal proceedings
  • Various legal opinions on matters relating to technical planning and environmental law in connection with power lines, including
    Project definition under planning permission and EIA law for the transfer and dismantling of pre-existing 110 kV overhead-lines in connection with a 380 kV replacement project under the Power Grid Expansion Act
